Beyond The Naked Eye was one of my personal projects for the University Photography Society Annual Exhibition in March 2018 at Coventry University. We were given the freedom to explore any topic and submit up to five images, so I decided to experiment with macro photography.
For this project, I used a Canon 700D paired with a 65mm macro lens and Macro Twin Lite Flash, capturing ordinary objects I found around the house. The images presented here invite the audience to engage and explore their creative minds, encouraging them to guess the actual objects based on texture and detail.
This project serves as a rhetorical reminder that we often overlook the small things in life. We tend to see only one perspective and neglect the myriad elements that contribute to our experiences. These close-ups aim to represent the overlooked details that shape our perception of the world.
